Writing Issues

Blank paper, Pen in hand, Mind a blur, Nothing planed. Crack knuckles, Scratch head, Have idea, Crap, out of lead. Searching, Searching, Desk a mess, Might have found it, HA HA! Success! Load pencil, Time to write, Wait a second, Where’s the light? Lamp just blew, Are you serious? This isn’t right, Am I delirious? Find a bulb, Fix the light, Time to sit, Time to write. Idea is lost, Can’t remember, Turn to fireplace, Stare at embers. That is it, I am through, Maybe sleep, Make mind anew. By: Nathan Bane Leccese © All Rights Reserved 05/07/2009

How gifted you are to make humor emerge from writer's block, Nathan. Had lots of laughs reading this great poem! (And I do believe sleep does refresh our ideas.) Still, there is so much angst when we lose a creative concept. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
