Nathan Leccese Poet Rhyme

Writing Issues

Blank paper, 
Pen in hand,
Mind a blur, 
Nothing planed.

Crack knuckles, 
Scratch head,
Have idea,
Crap, out of lead.

Searching, Searching,
Desk a mess,
Might have found it,
HA HA! Success!

Load pencil,
Time to write,
Wait a second,
Where’s the light?

Lamp just blew,
Are you serious?
This isn’t right,
Am I delirious?

Find a bulb,
Fix the light,
Time to sit,
Time to write.

Idea is lost,
Can’t remember,
Turn to fireplace,
Stare at embers.

That is it,
I am through,
Maybe sleep,
Make mind anew.
