Wrinkles On My Face
I look in the mirror each day -
To wash my face and comb my hair.
The young girl of twenty - is no more.
Instead there's an older lady there...
And, she's looking back at me!
Frowning - I touch my cheeks...
Realizing this one has come to stay.
Yes; I have wrinkles -
They're stress lines and smile creases.
Can it be; as the years pass one by one -
All of us become antiques?
But, I'll not grow old just yet...
There's too much I want to do -
If I can only keep up the pace.
Moving about my garden releases -
The joint pain caused by arthritis...
That really aches when it sprinkles.
As old age reaches out to claim me -
I pray God will grant...
A heart that will be young, gay, and free!
So, whatever life imparts...
With wrinkles on my face -
I ask for God's continued grace!
