A great opening. I love the metaphors all the time. "while stars weave wishes across the astral plane." I love this line and I do believe the stars do something about wishes, however, when it rains, I doubt it lets the wishes get back healthy. Great work Dear Ink.

IE, I always look for meaning in poetry and I'm thinking that this poem is about doubt as the poem sets up a bit of discomfort in one's belief. The initial doubt leads to more..."Wrap my warm soul in vain?" and "Would I then find constellations of fireflies,...?" This is so very subtle, yet very much thought provoking, which I really enjoy. OMG, all of a sudden I am smiling internally. I shan't mention this again, but since poetry soup is not an app but a website, you should be able to put your phone in landscape presentation and add a video link. It's a nice feature. Finally, your poetry is wonderful, and I am just so thrilled that we are able to appreciate it all with or without anything added!!!

I like how you created this poem. Ottawa Rima can be challenging but you produced a beautiful poem. As an aside, there does seem to be something Gothic about fireflies. Perhaps it's the metallic looking tube's on their back legs. A nice description.

This poem combines great reflections, with added imagery and great sensitivity of emotions. A premium contest entry that deserves a high placement.

The moon is a wrinkled rose, quenched in quartz tears, The imagery is mind bending aeee .. taste the citrus scent of russet rain from the heart of his crown, mmmmm love the kind of heaviness this piece brings … what if sage streaks of lunar-dusted spheres, wrap my warm soul with twinkling trinkets in vain?
