Notes About The Poem

Wretched Wishes

I hope one day your heart knows sting of pain
I hope to see you writhing in your guilt
I hope to God your tears are acid rain
I hope to see your blood on alter spilt

I hope to be there when you cry for love
When lonely and confused your long for care
I want to hear the silence from above
I want to see your heart lie crushed and bare

I hope someone rips out your every dream
And makes you lie on thorns instead of bed
I hope one day to hear your anguished scream
And see you look to life with living dread

For you have turned my life to misery
I hope you taste the bile you’ve offered me

As you know my friend I love sonnets! This one a tad dark but such a pleasure to read. Justice is to be honored by it being served! Your words do that in poetic verse and are well crafted. A7...

Life is not always happy. We need to be able to express our pain or it never leaves us. You have shown us what we all feel at some time or other. Well done my dear Hugs Edith

It's not as dark as you may think. Blood spilt is on the alter of love...In other words, the author wants this person to feel the pain of rejection...Yes. I'm sure we have felt these emotions. Some of us are just better at hiding them than others. Thanks for the visit.

I wrote it a day or so ago, but didn't post. Then I thought....why not? Others write dark writes...here is mine! As dark as they get. No, I will pass on the doll and pins, dear. That's where I draw the line! Hugs

Wow....such pain..so intense and powerful. Makes me think of Gloria Gaynor's immortal words..."I will survive"

Hello, David. Sorry I haven't been around to visit. Will swing by. Well, Gloria's song is a classic, but sometimes....I feel like survival is just too much work. Anyway...thanks for the visit. Hugs
