Wrapped In Quietude
each poet seeks a secret place
to go when they wish to ponder and write
a place that is a refuge from life
that is isolated from the noise of living
full of quietude ...
serenity and tranquility
and to be wrapped in bliss and peace
perhaps a beach beside the sea
where waves crash on rocks soothingly
perhaps a church with dappled sun
flowing through stained glass windows
perhaps by a rippling stream
where a thousand birds are singing
maybe a meadow of butterflies
and wildflowers swaying in the breeze
or a green dredged forest at dawn
maybe a cafe in Paris on a hushed cobbled street
but, I do not have to leave my home for quietude
for I can just visualize these places in my mind
and I am there ...
