Notes About The Poem

Tanka/Prose (other)

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a story about personal evolution, growth, and learning. Alice's journey teaches us to find beauty in our own lives, be flexible, have faith in ourselves, embrace the unexpected, and never give up on our dreams. The story also represents the child's struggle to survive in the confusing world of adults, and teaches us to overcome the open-mindedness that is characteristic for children

Woven Worlds Of Alice Liddell

She finds the pink planet, musing Alice Liddell's Imagination is the only weapon in war with reality. Sky's canvas, brushed cotton candy clouds where marshmallow mountains peak and the seventh sun rides low 'til the man in the moon awakens. White light and red, filters a pink-tint, nebulous fringed rose gold. Pearlescent beams lap at her legs, silhouettes blossom as silky waves of jasmine kiss, spiral, and envelop her
open-mindness to
       embrace the unexpected
                  Alice would be proud
                       realization pink planet
                               a bountiful life journey

Awards at the end of an imaginary rainbow of colours. Who said poetry has to be ta-dum, ta-dum .. Give me a vivid imagination anyday and "embrace the unexpected". Have a nice weekend, Anaya :)

Wow. This has to be a winner. The glowing diction in your prose is gorgeous, and just exudes images that delight one's imagination. Your Tanka is word perfect and accompanies the prose as a well matched partner. This is really wonderful Anaya. OK so I sound gushy, but this is honest praise. I really love it.

Linda Alice Fowler, what a pleasure, stranger. I like the tanka prose, it took me a few tries and am happy with mine, I know you wrote one as well, GL. My entry is a Mushroom World, LOl.

This is absolutely stunning, the creative use of imagery and depth of this poem truly is impeccable. So many lines stood out for me but i mostly loved “ A seventh sun is low on the horizon 'til the man on the moon awakens White light mixes with red light, filtering through the atmosphere“ how dreamy and imaginative is that and your use of colors and flowers really enhances the beauty of what you’ve conveyed here. I love silky waves of jasmine and pink tinted sky and rose gold as well as marshmallow mountains. So beautiful! And artistic. Pleasure reading this. A fave for me
