Would'A, Could'A, and Should'A
With few exceptions, I am a prudent observer, and I tend to pay attention.
I think that I understand the meanings of the ‘Use Before’ and ‘Best By’ dates.
In fact, I did indeed read the ‘Best By’ date, but failed to think deeper about it.
No, the product was not ‘outdated’, but a more prudent observer would have noticed. Such would have noticed that the ‘Best Buy’ date was rapidly
closing in on the actual and current date. But I did not notice this time.
The grocer did nothing illegal; but he did revive a more discriminating buyer.
Though the box of crackers was eatable and not unhealthy, they were not fresh. They were indeed ‘crackers’; so ‘cracked’ in fact that they could barely dip and hold the delicious chicken spread that my wife made for me.
Over the years, I have met “Mrs. Would’a, Mr. Could’a, and Miss Should’a, and occasionally, I too am one of them. This week, I should’a read a print ‘more fine tunedly’ that really was not so finely printed. I tell you, most eyes would agree that the print was fine. I should’a been, but I was not.
