Worming

Walking on a rain-drenched street, Right against the sidewalk berms, Glancing down beside our feet We spotted many slimy worms. A few were flattened, squished and still But some were slowly squirming. What a treat that fills the bill With grandkids, to go worming! I would highly recommend, When it's damp and cloudy, Taking time so you can spend Some minutes to say howdy To those weird and wiggly guys That slither out from under, Filling us (in every size) With just a little wonder.

With temperatures here spring like I noticed the first worms the other day coming up for a fresh breather – those little mounds they make. I've written a few poems on various worms like the tomato in particular, a gruesome looking thing to my mind. Enjoyed. / M

This is amazing! You are so good at rhyming! I haven't even thought about worms in a long time. I used to see them all the time. Great poem! (again!)

Your poem made me smile ...On our island some of the schools so woem charming to see how many worms the kids can find in a certain area ... they try to emulate birds patting the ground with their feet ... it seems to work:-) hugs Jan xx
