World Forum of Monkeys
In the year 00000 countless monkeys
met in an imaginary tundra palace
to discuss security of their forest life
Chimpanzee was the chair monkey
and secretary was tropical baboon
there was no book nor pen for records
members were to write using bananas
and tree leaves to be used as papers
but the meeting was interrupted
as tails became an issue of gossip
Some tails were long, short, curved, thick
others beautiful, ugly and a few bushy
short-tails were mocked, the sported feared
as they could be relatives to leopard
They talked about sweet bananas
and fought over them for meals not as pens
majority spent time weeping for bananas
but time went and the meeting collapsed
winter snow engulfed many members
covering the forest palace without notice
and so the grand meeting was a grand fuss
Squatting on snow, baby Penguin wondered;
Why should monkeys so intelligent,
animals endowed with such vast wealth,
focus on none issues of tails and bananas,
as the centripetal force of their existence?
