days of my childhood
tumbling by ~ ~
in my memories
feeding ducks
in a lush green park
spring tulips
in all hues and shapes
I pick some
to give to mother
lady shouts
those are my tulips
I run home
fall and scrap my knee
tears falling . . .
mother held me close ~
I grow up
fall into blue eyes
of a man
who leaves me breathless
I marry
we will have a child
so happy
but the baby dies
tears falling . . .
mother held me close ~
my true love
now gone far above
engraved stone
mother held me close ~
tears falling . . .
