words on the wind

Sunny days
With a slight breeze,
And the aura of summer
Coming our way.
I stood beside you,
And glanced at you—
At your chestnut eyes.

An ideal time to speak,
Those words that
Quieted before they took form.

I whispered them
As you turned and walked away,
And as my footsteps
Filled the silence,
The words were carried by the breeze.

I wonder who the wind will give them to next.
