Words On the Wall
It’s like you stuck in a cell
When you want to be heard
But there’s no medium to express yourself
The wall is the only thing that you got
You put your heart on it
And make it salty when tears from your eyes drop
You engrave heroics on it
And when you trip, you scribble failure on it
When life smiles you make a mark on it
Your past can’t be erased, so try and embrace it.
And if it’s bad, it should never show up again
Maybe when someone finds this dusty wall
The words on the wall can feed them
Maybe they can relate.
Maybe they can smile where you smiled
And feel the scribbles of the pain that you felt
Maybe these words can teach them a truth
They could be soothing enough to heal more than an aching tooth
These words on the wall are what the world sees
And since words form pictures, hopefully your life is a beautiful piece
You don’t need to be rich to have a masterpiece
You need courage to realise what’s wrong and change it
You need faith to believe and see the beauty inside
Through our lives we can help cause change today
You just have to show them the words on the wall.
