Words and Ideas

Orbiting words and ideas
though not always understanding,
we are drawn like moths to a candle.

They give us light,
We do not need substance.

Reality is the ether that we fly through
Its origin does not matter
It comes from nowhere,
nowhere that we understand.

We seek knowledge
Forming words and ideas to hold it
Like a cage
Like water in a cage.

We have the cage,
words and ideas
to prove we have captured
knowledge.

We have the cage securely locked,
Our treasure safely held.
We do not have the key.

We have the cage
We have the knowledge of
Our treasure safely held.

And within
Like water in a cage
It leaks away

Words and ideas we try to capture, isn't it wonderful that both are limitless. No cage is large enough to capture them all. Excellent piece.
