Woodland
The mighty oak
Wears its crown
Of acorns with pride
Giving life
To the wood
It takes centre stage
soaring high
Spreading its benevolent
Reign outwards
Robin and blackbird
Sing praises
From its outstretched arms
Laden with hungry chicks
Snug in their nests
Butterflies dance
In dappled shade
Squirrels scramble skyward
Woodpeckers tap out
