Wonderment

In that boundless Sea of Suns, does there yet teem other life?

            I pose this to the heavens, my heart pierced with longing's knife ...


And should I wait here ceaseless, so disclosure might return,

            The Great Expanse is far too vast ... for me to e'er discern.

This unanswered question haunts me so much, Gregory, knowing that I probably won't know the answer in my lifetime. Well-written...your poem touches on the same unanswered mystery as my poem did in this contest. Congratulations on placement. Sandra

Thank you SO much, Sandra, I so greatly appreciate your comment, and I so relate! There is nothing that tugs on my heart and soul more than this, and the fact that there are so many unimaginable wonders in this Universe that no intelligent eyes will ever behold or appreciate ... there is no greater tragedy, and I am so saturated with a desire to know. It has been this way since I was a child, and only grown stronger. Somehow it makes perfect sense that you would see it the same way. Blessings, my friend - we should chat about it sometime! :-) <3
