Without Prejudice

it’s said we can’t outrun our past ~ yet the cosmos does so every day

and whilst mankind tries catching back up ~ monkeys remain much the same way

intelligence has surpassed evolution ~ one million fold i’d say

have we been blessed or modified ~ who supercharged our DNA

I read just a day ago that a good scientist will never say they have the last word on anything as science is by it’s nature always questioning.

Of course you’re a level headed gal Super Mo, and you know too, that things just don’t add up, religiously or scientifically, hope you’re keeping well, cheers David

Can’t outrun God, some would say, so accepting responsibility for our actions and past mistakes, is so, for now, anyway. Until we find out, knowledge unfolds everyday! I also read: Our DNA intriguing, like your thoughts here. “Evolution, it turns out, is really good at irony.” How viruses infiltered our DNA and supercharged our immune system. Prehistoric viruses' part of our DNA, they provided raw material for evolution. “If not for a virus, none of us would ever be born.”

Heya Anaya, I’m perhaps pushing the boundaries here of what makes true reality, it amazes me how fast our intelligence has grown over the last few centuries, seems almost inconceivable how far technology has come, I agree with your scientific assessment on DNA, and viruses inadvertently helping us along, but I also believe we may well be missing some other key fact about our evolution, thank you so much for stopping by, cheers David

Heya Nancy! I think so many of us have our own views and beliefs about how we got to this time and place we exist in, so I thought (without prejudice) would be more inclusive to us all, cheers David

I'm going to chalk not being able to outrun the cosmos to my human imperfection. As for evolution... if we descended from apes, why are apes still around? Another poem written in Kavanaugh style with intrigue.

Actually, perhaps we ascended from apes... Then again, perhaps not...

Our imagination outruns this cosmos much faster than light speed Jenna, and some things about our quantum leap of intelligence just don’t add up, I just try to point out my misgivings about this reality we find ourselves in, without prejudice to anyone’s belief, cheers David
