Without Fold

I watched the sun rise this morning...
with memories my heart did flood-

Of a love I set free into broken skies...
A love I did once love...

For the bonds that did once bind us-
were tethered for some time...

She pushed me into darkness-
where, my heart could not be found...

Like a rose without perfection...
too often I was told-

These memories came flooding back
like a book without a fold...

The misery that haunted me...
the shame dire despair...

For only if she understood-
my love was chained in fear-

As days go by new tides come...
I ponder free thoughts a wisp-

A lasting love was not meant to be
a love that suffered eclipsed.
