Without Dreaming

I'm on my world, you are on your world.
How can we meet if we're apart?
Even if I stretch my arms I could never reach your hand.
I could see your face.
I could hear your voice.
I could only be with you in my dream.
I want to be with you,
to be my hope,
to be my strength and to be my friend.
When shall I see your face?
When shall I hear your voice?
When shall I be with you without dreaming?

Wow, deeply expressed piece of beauty, Doris. Amazing honesty of that distance, that one wished to get rid of, in hopes of getting closer to that special one. Enjoyable piece overall. Check out some of my poems, might find some you like. Peace.

I can relate to loss too. You wish your loved one was still alive and you see or remember them in dreams but when you wake up you remember they are not there. Awesome poem!

Welcome to Poetry Soup. Very nice first piece. I wrote a sonnet, with a similar theme to your ending, called Odsessey; you might like it. Thanks for commenting on Something Left Behind.

I understand this poem. It takes some patience. A LOT of patience and also some action on both parts, but if it's meant to be it will, good luck and great work.

patience is one of the things that is difficult to have but its fruit is sweet.
