Within My Mind

There seems to be a problem inside my mind,
There are dragons roaring behind closed doors
Princesses scraping along prison bars
And usually dancing fairies trying to dig their way out

There are sparkling diamonds buried beneath mountains
Waterfalls quashed as boulders blocks the flow
Ogres growling for help trapped in the dark
And princes charging walls at strangelled cries for aid

Inside my mind feasts have been stopped
Werewolves howl, caught away from their prey
Vampires hiss in coffins sealed at the lid
And the Bogeyman’s stomach grumbles from the cupboard

Castles have gone into lock down
Confining courtiers to banging on the walls
Music’s stopped; deadly silence fills the void
And halts the laughter of children held within

Inside my mind Witches curse thick stockades
Gremlins circle cages threatening their captors
Goblins spit with rage within their boxes
And elves bug Santa who’s reflecting on the meaning of Christmas

Frankenstein smashes boulders that replace themselves
Ghosts sit in shock that they can no longer walk through walls
Kiss me Quick’s have no one to kiss
And fairy Tales have no ending at all never mind a happy one

Inside my mind everything has stopped
Trapped by blocks within my mind
And as I sit here watching scenes with nothing in
I and the things in my head curse the writers curse

Writers Block.
