Within My Heart

Within My Heart

If there was an open window
And you could peer inside to see,
You'd see a heart that's mended
Because of God's love for me.

Within its deepest folds
He saw how much I was afraid.
He felt my pain and my sorrow,
So He listened while I prayed...

"Father, I know you've seen the scars
That are etched upon my heart.
I've felt You near me in the night
When my world seemed torn apart.

You came to me when I called
You saw the stains of my tears.
You're the One who gently told me
To let go of all my fears.

I thought my heart was broken
But I can feel it beating strong.
You gave me hope and brought me peace.
You held my hand when I'd been wronged.

I felt You standing at my side
As though You touched my face,
You took away my heavy burdens
With Your kindness and Your grace.

I give to You my love and devotion
With each step upon the paths I trod.
My heart is bound to the One I love.
My heart is Yours, my merciful God."
