With God, We Are Overcomers
With God, we His redeemed are overcomers against selfish vanity
Because of His subduing strength’s tenacity
As we come to Him with meekness-humility
Fighting vigorously pride’s intensity
In begging for His power, admitting own frailty.
With God, we His redeemed are overcomers against wearisome dysfunction
Because of His loving kindness’ rejuvenation
As we worship Him with thanksgiving-jubilation
Fighting vigilantly boredom’s intervention.
In praising His name, enjoying assurance of salvation.
With God, we His sanctified are overcomers against lustful blight
Because of His reviving righteousness’ light
As we follow Him with obedience-delight
Fighting visibly carnality’s might
In staying in His will, praying with supplication’s plight.
With God, we His stewards are overcomers against covetous vices
Because of His transforming work’s forces
As we labor for Him with services-sacrifices
Fighting courageously slothfulness’ losses
In advancing His kingdom, investing for heavenly graces.
With God, we His children are overcomers against grievous discontentment
Because of His satisfying provisions’ enrichment
As we surrender to Him with dedication-commitment
Fighting victoriously* insecurity’s entrapment
In pleasing His person, experiencing divine blessings’ fulfillment.
*1Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
