“A mother`s gentle care and tender love
Are like divine grace raining from above.” By Author

                                                              With a Gentle Hand Mystic

                                             With a gentle hand, soft as morning light,
                                            She ever carved her way to set stuffs right,
                                          With tenderness that flowed like rivers` grace
                                          Painting the canvas of love`s warm embrace;

                                                With a gentle hand, full of tender care
                                         She appeased the pains of my knee laid bare
                                              After a fall from five rungs of the stairs,
                                           With my childish feet hurled high in the air;

                                     When the maze of sleep would not close my eyes,
                                           In soft whispers, she would hum lullabies,
                                           With a gentle hand tapping my forehead
                                                Lying awake by the side of my bed;

                                          With a gentle hand resplendent with love
                                       She wiped away my tears with velvet gloves
                                       When at four I was besieged with dark fears
                                             At sight of a slithering snake just near.

                                            With a gentle hand replete with caress
                                     She steered me to school lanes without regret,
                                            Stepping into the shoes of a teacher
                                          And, in the times of need, a counsellor.

                                        When time was ripe for me to move afield
                                           Without the garb of a protective shield,
                                        With a gentle hand, she steered me along
                                             The joys and vagaries of life for long;

                                            With a gentle hand, synonym of care,
                                        A touch showing how deeply she`s aware,
                                           She extended on me her grace lifelong
                                       As the tunes from her shining sweetest song.

                                             In her hand, a world of comfort did lie
                                         A safe haven whence my soul could arise,
                                          Her gentle smile was a bacon of night
                                     That guided me through darkness with her light;

                                      Such a gentle, graceful hand could not glow
                                         But from a maternal breast, that did show
                                               The purity of sublime care and love
                                              Flowing from the celestial sky above.
