With a Bit of a Bite

I'm not very good with a platitude
From my Dad I have got this attitude
Make it short, not too sweet
With the right kind of beat
And you'll have my endless gratitude!

Perfect. I always hated to answer the phone to someone asking, "What are you doing?" Number one, it's not your business, and number two, you must have nothing to say so why chat? LOL :)

With a bit of a bite It's sure to be right. My Dad used to say little girls should be seen and not heard. Great Limerick, Elizabeth. Take care, Shirley

I don't know where my answer went; I don't see it. So, belatedly, thank you for your reply. Exactly, find the right word or phrase and the rest are not required! Elizabeth

No frills, no fawning, no falsehoods! Short and succinct always beats long and suspect! :) gw

You got it: my three favorite hates! Those and a poem that has been ruined to fit into a contest! Elizabeth

Fathers do know best...sometimes. Glad you got something "usable" from yours. A great limerick, E.

Nice to hear from you, Jim. Yeah, you had to beware, a tiny glint in his eye, and somebody's about to be the object of his wit! Elizabeth

Your dad was a man after my own heart Elizabeth. If its good, it doesn't need streamers and tinsel. On Soup, I am guilty of rambling and making it too long but in practice my ideal is short concise, say what you mean and mean what you say. I love your poem.

Wendy. As always so kind of you. Don't worry; you are just coming into your true skin after a lot of trouble. Your confidence will grow! And you won't be afraid of chopping and editing and saying what you really mean!! I'll be looking. Elizabeth
