Wish

The season of birth came today,

   (the budding march of May)

   and it spoke to me by the waters

   along the stream near my hideaway,

   creamy dreamy and fair

Autumn time and tumbling leaves

   brings to me, signs of the times

   and winter time,

   things gone by;

   from inside the window panes,

   I witness the return of spring again

All things come to change

   as if bound and heaven sent;

   leading star-ward ----

   their zenith dreams,

In some starry firmament,

   the scholars and wise

   and crystal staircases

   up on high,

   they venture solemnly

   though seldom knowing why

Give us dreams, give us needs

   nothing is what it seems;

   yet, united we esteem of better things

   and smile from tomorrow brings,

   things being all the same

The season of birth arrived today;

   dreaming a wanting wish by the waters,

   along the stream by my hideaway,

   it said:

Wherever you go you are free,

   wherever you go leads to me,

Wish

I dare say, you are indeed a poet!!! Great style, and I like when a poem flows and tells a story as you so often do. Cheers

Dear Keith, The change of seasons always makes me think of the "seasons" of our lives. You described each one quite beautifully here and have been blessed with a remarkable talent for writing poetry. You are going into my favorite poets. I haven't seen too many of your poems, but those I've read so far have been brilliant! Love and blessings, Carolyn

Another poem emitting love for something you hold close to your heart. Spring arrives in all its glory. The final lines make for a perfect finale. // paul

Thanks Paul, it's often the final lines which makes a perfect picture --- I think you and I have a natural understanding since you are a painter; I can be very 'morally' visual, as I notice this same grace in your work

Thanks Anne, I must admit it struck me when you said 'sad' ; but you were right ---- I wrote this piece almost 15 yrs ago, but I guess we all 'wish' for things no matter what the situation; it's just part of life
