Miranda Hawley Poet Rhyme

Wish

There is a popular Disney song
that the notes are slow and long.
“When you wish upon a star” it lies,
“Your dreams come true.” it cries.

Throwing the pennies in a fountain
wishing for a money mountain.
Maybe the wish is for someone to love,
and maybe the wish is for mercy above.

The wish might be for a family vacation
or more money from the work station.
The wish is something that is to come;
it is something that is yet to be done.

Wishing is not wrong nor is it bad
simply a ply for something not had.
