Winters Weeping
WINTER’S WEEPING
Winter’s weeping
branches breaking
barricading
my path
sinewy arms of the creek
grab my ankles
swelling
too sweet
the taste of flickering flakes
cooling down the thick black ice
i slam hard the door
the dark beckons
i light a sardonic candle
and awaken
