Winters Adornment
While in the midst of a midnight storm,
I saw the blizzard grow strangely dark.
Never had I seen this awesome form.
That raged placing an indelible mark.
Even though I lived a half a century,
Releasing of power stuck in memory.
Slowly it ceased upon the break of day.
Animal like attitude played all night.
Daylight broke and from my first sight.
Ocellus objects appeared to surround.
Realistic, crystal shapes making no sound.
Nature’s glory of white stood all around.
Making my eyes see buried colors abound.
Evangelical shrouds covered, by the pound.
Now I know what I lost; now I have found.
Truth in beauty, winter’s adornment crowned
For Laura Mckenzie's contest.
