WINTER SONATA

WINTER SONATA As winter approaches, memories flood me, memories of an unforgettable romance. A romance that took me by surprised and made me feel amazingly pleased. A romance full of music, music in different themes, tones, melodies, instruments, tunes merged creating beautiful forms, harmonies and setting off sparks of passions, emotions. I met him in Winter, my music class professor. Also a conductor of an orchestra, a composer, a multi-instrumentalist, a songwriter, a singer. He composed several piano and violin sonatas. Our romance started like a romantic classical sonata, a piece of instrumental music beginning with our Introduction in a slow tempo quickly turning to fast tempo Exposition in getting to know each other. With our love of music and our innate musicality, we connected continuing to Development with slower tempo in exploring and expressing our strong attraction and feelings toward each other. We carried into the Recapitulation, representing exposition again, like remembering how his smiley eyes excited me or how my bemused smile got him distracted making him smile ear to ear and laugh. Our romance touched on the great composers: Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn, Father of Sonata and the great sonatas ever composed that he taught in one of his classes. But the romantic story of our winter sonata plays in my head over and over again for it is like a cozy fire that warms me with undying memories of the times we spent together. The way we looked at each other when he held me close, the walks we had with his arm around my shoulder and mine around his waist and oh… the sweet talks and kisses that tickled by heart.
