Winter Passing

My God, let my body break in cold months.
The first flurries look further than my white —
Where my form sink under this frozen touch,
Winter's last, return my kiss back to light —

As the snow beats into my epitaph,
I'm still on the mound, outside my last gasp,
My little bit of snow laid in my breath,
For heaven was created before death.

It's hard to believe that there the cold stays,
This frost's inner hurt buried in a grave —
Winter memory breaking still lingers.
A stone cross's statue brushed my fingers

Rubbing dust on dust; turns to my soft glow
As remembered as footprints in the snow.

Winter frost is getting into everything. Even inside the grave, there is chill. A remarkable poem with nice rhyming.

A very good and interesting poem, which succeeds in actually doing something new with the sonnet form. I'll look forward to more.

I deleted my poetry because I was going to leave the Soup, but could not stand it. I felt alone, depressed, lost. I came back. Will refine old poetry, and post new ones, hopefully. Thanks for asking about it. Happy Thanksgiving!! <3

Whoa ! Genius sonnet on inner & outer cold. Excellent optimistic last two lines. “The first flurries look further than my white” Where exactly did you dig this up from, Beloved ! goes beyond a paradisal vision. Indeed ! Heaven was created before Death for humans to integrate the two. Xxxx
