Winter Is Fading

Winter is fading

Winter is fading
Dark mornings are beginning
To be bright
Cold weather and brisk winds
Helps us to endure
An abundance of sunlight

Smell the hint of spring in the air
Longing for the hot summer flare
We forget about the
- 40 degrees below weather

Icy roads, rough to the ride and the drive
Many winters we have survived
Many cold and frosty noses
Summer brings the roses

Winter is fading
Sunshine in the sky
Cold weather and brisk winds
Keeps us on the sly

You brought back cold memories of a winter I spent Upstate New York. A summer boy at heart, it was rough, but taught me what I really liked. I've lived in Phoenix for quite some time now:) Some call it hell on earth...but, as my wife and I often kid, if we don't make it to heaven at least the heat won't be a problem. Both retired now, the heat really pampers old bones. Great read. Thank you.
