Winter Coat
Puddles of ice glisten and shine; surrounded by diamond drops of snow, falling from the
heavens.
Silver coloured clouds,
Dark and light carry them all over.
Crescent moon hangs alone in the starless night,
Fighting bravely to illuminate the scene; with a waning glow.
Small creatures of the night scurry in and out,
Beneath white covered green and red berry bushes;
Hoping the owls out hunting pass them by.
Footprints break up the even freshly laid snow,
Crunch; crunch the sound of every step,
Placed deep and firm as they pass neon lit windows;
Some brighter than others just passed.
Branches hang low now bare of their summer clothes,
Snap some go unable to carry the weight of the winter
Coat they all must wear.
