Winter
Whispered clouds rise over the distant laughter,
Cutting through the bitter cold winds of winter.
Branches shedding icicles to the sidewalk,
Breaking the stillness.
Snowy blankets covering autumn remnants,
Barren gardens dreaming of blooms in color.
Glassy rivers shining beneath the moonlight,
Waiting to shatter.
Frozen mem’ries melting as days grow longer,
Fragile as the glass on the river’s surface.
How your heart remained through
the spring and summer,
Colder than winter.
