Winds Prank
Gray fog ease under darken night;
Consumed by tears and frozen fright.
Trees lie upon forest dense floor,
As bitter chill wind flows and snore.
In darkness inward whirls around.
Wolfs, howl! Owl hoots! A riled screams sound.
I am chill to the bone; I shout.
Flashlight flickered, flared and went out.
The doorknob turns. Shush, not a word;
It shuts close, snap of the lock heard.
Frigid chill stream through the dim air;
Crackling fire burns, do not known where.
Ashes and smoke fly all around;
Fire licking up like tongues abound.
Hush, hush, she hangs from the rafter.
I run, from the wind's shrill laughter.
