Wind Beneath My Wings

My gloomy days I can still recount
When I needed shoulders to lean upon
When I needed helping hands to hold on
And somebody to hear me when I cried out

It wasn't easy being alone on the narrow road
In the midst of the darkness where I stood
How I really wished to see a tiny light
To guide me and lead me into the right path

I anxiously went along my journey
Struggled across the rocky and the thorny way
I felt the heavy rain and heard the roaring thunder
My heart wept and fainted fast in fear

I was alone and you sit close to me
Trampled down and you carried me
You're the wind beneath my wings
Who made me soar and fly into the heights

Of all my wishes and dreams
Of all my struggles and failures
Of all the pains, sadness, and tears
You're there to give hope that never shatters

Meeting you is a blessing in disguise
You inspired me to spread my wings
So that I may soar up high
Like an eagle flying toward the sky
