Will You Love Me This Evening
~
Will you love me this evening
midst twilight’s returning
as snow flurries play
on the edge of the night
Neath evergreens swaying
in cold winter breezes
where soft woolen mittens
make everything right
Now walking a pathway
of frosted encounters
adrift of the season
when hearts come to sing
As icicle kisses
on lips warm and tender
provide every tingle
the moment can bring
Where shadows are dancing
in search of a moonbeam
as clouds slowly wander
and stars now appear
While gazing the distance
this hillside of splendor
with crisp winter air
making everything clear
Beyond the horizon
as city lights flicker
enchanting our view
on these December skies
Will you love me this evening
alone here together
and love me again
in the morning sunrise
~
