Will You Accept Me

I have flaws
I have scars
I'm not a model
Will you accept me?
When I'm in pain will you
shield me
Society label an individual by they issue
will you?
Will you abuse me
Lie to me
Be ashamed of me
Will you take me dancing in your arms
Proudly
will you leave me when the tough gets going
Will love me despite my condition
Will you accept me

Hi Patrice, WoW!It's seems as though you can read my mind. Although I feel that I am a survivor (I was abused as a child)and no longer see myself as a victim. From time to time this poem is the anthem of my life. You caputured the feeling of a abused person very well. I see that you are new to the soup. Let me the first to welcome you to poetry soup. This is a place where you can learn from other poets like yourself. It's also a place to make new friends.
