Will I Be Left

Will I be left here? My heart beats with fear, my nerves and sweat smear. Does he look at me, should I look to see? No, then hope might fade. I want plans I made to stay as dreams bade. This process is rude, hurts one’s attitude, shows no latitude … Has he eyed me yet? Man, my palms are wet. Wish I were all set. Please let dreams befall - Choose me for dodgeball.

Hiya there, this poem is so fun!! I truly did think it was a relatable piece about how crushes make one nervous; I was with you on that journey! But the dodgeball was a very pleasant surprise. Cleverly executed, and slick with it too. Pray tell if you were selected or not, hehe. Although, whichever way it went, you got a cool poem out of it nonetheless. Loving you, Hiba.

A child of heart we will always be no matter how old we are. A game of dodgeball would be fun. Enjoyed how this poem made me feel. A child wanting to be picked for a team and not be disappointed.

Dear CayCay, So full of the tension that comes with waiting and wondering, yes, a delicate dance of hope and fear. I love the humor in it; it makes the anxiety feel a little lighter. I love how you captured a very human moment of vulnerability and the weird way our minds work when we’re unsure about something. Really fun and relatable! Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

CayCay, I love it especially that last line. I, of course, thought you were looking for romance so got a good laugh at the end. I think a lot of us felt like that when it came to picking teams. LOL. Hugs, Jan.
