Just when I followed night's evanescing sheen behind a rock-- on this quiet lake, the humped seashell drifted on: I laid there forlorn by an old palm tree needing to connect with anyone, until turbulent waves slapped my face... How bitter this pang of aloneness .......gripping the hidden silence a little more, and eve's naked rays were gone upon my chilling pores. How insolent ripples drowned my grate of angst as bleary eyes grieved like a widow, that somehow, a cloud turned kohl-gray: I moaned yet not even a restless wind listened to my internal oration, my ached calls , while I hid beneath an ocean of black stars deserted--- caressed again by darkness murmuring, where thoughts beg; will hereafter null this existence? ~ 8/21/2019 Revised What If There Was No Tomorrow Contest Sponsor: Silent One ~
