WILE E COYOTE Cartoon Character Clerihew Poetry Contest

WILE E. COYOTE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With ACME’s ludicrous gadgets galore, in the desert Wile E. Coyote plots Builds rockets and traps that his nemesis, the Roadrunner, inevitably spots. *“Beep! Beep!” Road Runner zips past with a dare, and with a tumble and crash Wile onto the desert does splat; undaunted, he sends ACME more cash. Poem written for and submitted to Cartoon Characters Clerihew Poetry Contest, Tania Kitchen, sponsor, August 11, 2025 *Note:“Beep! Beep!” This onomatopoeia is commonly associated with the Road Runner in Looney Tunes cartoons featuring the speedy-yet-flightless bird and his constant pursuer, Wile E. Coyote. Wile E. Coyote, a valued figure from my youth, danced across the screen with relentless pursuit and comical despair. A splendid verse, crafted with care, a testament to creativity, dear Sara :) - Wishing you well in the contest

I've been in Arizona 3 years and have encountered Road runners. But not yet Coyote. But every memory you have I share with you. Good luck in the contest.

Hi John...thanks for visiting my site and reading my 'coyote' poem. I lived in El Paso for 20 years and, like you, saw roadrunnes pretty regularly but never a coyote...not until we returned to north Texas where we live on the outskirts of Anna, Texas...hubby and I have seen coyotes here. Go figure. enjoy your evening, Sara
