Wildflower
Wildflower
Known to the blind
Goes unseen by the proud
Known to the wind
Sways her head to its strings
Rough and beaten down
Her tears weigh heavily upon the ground
Edges sharp as blade
Potent fumes—-in your face
The sun and rain know her name
Freedom in the wild
Keeps her alive
Whatsoever season, she’ll survive
In her chamber place
She’s sublime
Bountiful
And alluring
Is her stride
In the vase
Out of place
Out of nature’s grace
She withers away
Under the morning sun
She’s golden in the face
With rain, her tears are swept away
Arms stretched to the sky
A speck of light in the dark
Picked by strange hands
Her heart beats fast
One step taken on chance
Hearts, stars and moons
Memories of a happy place
A smile upon her face
