Wild Orchid

Wild Orchid

I found her drooping, drenched
amongst the rocks and weeds.
I stroked her moistened face and
wiped away the glistening tears.
Beneath my grazing hands
she stirred – a glow of warmth
spread o’er her lustrous skin:
petal by petal she bloomed.

I love the use of your metaphor, Paul. Your lovely poem also made me think about the flowers I planted this year. I water them twice a day and still they droop. Maybe they need more love. Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn. I am sure your flowers have all the love they need or maybe more! I see that your temp is ca 90 degrees F; perhaps the heat is getting to them. Take care. Hugs // paul
