Wild Knows Wild

She loved this time of day the best
Wearing her cloak of secrecy
Riding her favorite mount
Charles of St Louis
Lulled by the invitation
of the forest

Seductively quiet
Silence made her smile
Increased her abilities
Internal lantern
Coaxing her
forever forward

She gave Charles his choice
He could take her to the
brook or the hills of violet
She did this often at dusk
Fearing nothing
in her nurturing woods

Bobcats and wolves left her alone
Feeling her purity
Adoring her essence
Sure they watched sometimes
But they recognized her
for wild knows wild

Indeed, the wild knows the wild. And is often more down to earth than high-minded human populations. Lovely, soulful read.

I do adore wild myself; recognizing myself there.
