Why Not Drift

Why not drift, drift away my heart?
Drifts like a matter in a running stream
From the bank where I once sat
And share a love and a dream.
Drift to the falls where it hurts no more!

Why not drift away my heart quickly?
Like an invincible spell of the breeze
Before the crannies of a prisoned life flee
Through the mountain range and trees
Drift around the sphere like a troubadour!

Why not drift, oh drift, drift high
My heart, drift up beyond the hemisphere
Drift gently like a snow cloud in the sky
Above the plane of pain, sadness fear....
Drift with ease and encumbered no more!
