Why, my Lord? Why we cannot live in peace? Why do we think it is right to wage war against our neighbors? To still their land? To burn their houses? To kill their children? Why, my Lord? Why do we repeat the same mistakes for thousands of years, When we do see clearly that violence begets violence, and Death does beget death? Why my Lord? Why are we so blind as not to see the light of your truth? So deaf as not to hear the thunder of your wise words? So insensitive as not to sense the pain of our fellow men? So unfeeling as to remain indifferent before: Their suffering Their grief Their agony, and Their devastation? For how long, my Lord? For how long should humanity endure hatred? For how many more millennia should Man allow the aversion rule, Before he understands that your divine command to Love one another is the only solution for him in peace to live?* © Demetrios Trifiatis 21 May 2021 * Dedicated to all innocent victims of war conflicts around the world.

- I'm in the same mindset as you today ... I'm thinking of the poor kids ... grief and suffering - Love does not cost lives ... and is easy to share ... Dear friend Demetrius, this another piece of art that should be on POTD, the disdain we have as human beings is beyond imagination, the hatred we got towards each other should be gone, as we all getting ready to leave our confort zone. Take care and stay safe dear Freind.

My dearest friend, Lasaad, I really thank you for considering my poem as a candidate for POTD but you know that one can receive the honor only once a month so other worthy poets could be honored. You are so right about the disdain we have as human beings. You, my friend, agree with Plato on this point who says that there is not another animal that shows the disdain that Man shows.
