Why My Hands Are Empty

Flowers sprout out of the shallow earth,
And give us beauty of sight and scent with their birth
And to love them much is what we ought do with our time
But grabbing by the base and plucking should be a crime.
It already exists, just for you,
So why would you need kill it too?
Does it do better staying in your hand or resting in a vase?
Do you not see the color already beginning to fade from the face?

Beauty in the world is meant for just a quick embrace,
Because grabbing someone by the wrist is an absolute disgrace.
There is a rule controlling persons do not seem to know,
If you want to keep that hand to hold, you hold on by letting go.
