Why Must I Die Inside?

Why must I die inside? I am crushed inside from past experiences that I have not let go of. I have tried to erase all the things that are holding me back. I have tried not to remember how many times I was raped and torn apart inside. I cannot remember when I have really and truly laughed and felt it inside. I am pressed down with so many issues and hurt from family and friends. I have tried to live my life with humility and honestly and Love. I reach out to people with sincere compassion. I want to live Why must I die inside?

Hi Cathy, Nice poem. The truth is, no one can die inside unless you consent to it. The pressures of the society notwithstanding, its up to us to choose how we want to feel inside. keep up the great work. Joseph.

A good question Why must I die inside' it seems no matter how hard we try we can never run away from ourselves and our past . We can hope to lock it away by the grace of God and get on with life and bring joy to others.

No need to die, tolerance makes a man strong where silence is the best policy. God certainly helps if everything's done with true devotion. Beautiful poem my lovely friend,bl

Very sad poem. I hope you will find your internal peace soon. The poem idea is good but rather sounds like prose?

Congratulations Cathy, on your poem being featured this week. Sadly, some families appear to be fine and happy on the outside, when in reality unpleasantries are occurring on the inside. I hope you work it out and can live again...Joy delights! (I went to school in South Florida with a girl named Cathy Holmes. Her dad was a doctor...my mon's doctor.) Lovingly, Dane Ann

Sorry, I missed this when it was first posted, Cathy. This is a heartfelt write. I'd like to refer you to Deb Guzzi's "High Bred-Reality". Life on this journey is never going to be what it should, but there will come a new day, I believe. Congratulations on being featured this week on soup. God bless. Love, Annalise
