Why I Write

I don’t write deep
Meaningful poetry
For fun, leisure, or for anyone, but
MYSELF
I write to say what’s on my
Mind. Contol my
Anxiety and nervous
Breakdowns, because
It’s easier to write it
Than to tell someone about it
I don’t care if
People read my poems
And judge me
They are for me.
Not for you.
It releases emotions
I fail to express
It’s my escape
It’s my savior
It’s my therapy

It certainly is easier to write it than to tell it to someone. I began writing prose and poetry for the same reason and I think it saved my sanity. So I can certainly appreciate your poem. Beverly Read
