Why I Must Write

I may never win a contest
Or be published in a book
and somethings I have written
May not be worth a look

No, I don't write for glory
Money or great fame
I write because inside of me
Burns an undenying flame

Maybe a hundred years from now
With just a little luck
Some publishers may find my work
And make themselves a buck

A very honest and truthful poem why people write and you put it quite remarkably well in these lines. A 7 indeed!

Hello Jerry!! Great Poem here, and how so true. Writing is what I do too!! If some people like it -- fine; if some don't -- that's fine too!! You write because you have the passion, interest, and fire to do so like a lot of this. (Just look at the comments below following mine!!) I enjoy the realism of what you say immensely my good friend!! A "Seven" for sure -- absolutely!! Cheers and Best, Gary

Thanks Gary, I'm not sure it's a seven, but I'll except a 3 and a 4...lol . when I read your work, it's obvious writing is in your blood

Fun way you expressed what most of us feel Jerry! It just is in our blood...Let's keep writing then, shall we? Who knows indeed...some great-great-grandson might find himself a windfall...:-)

In admitting your humility, you allow us to flatter you...and with pleasure. When thought comes to mind, we reach for pen and paper. This is well done, Jerry.

Thank you very much Lin, writing is as natural as breathing to many, why should any of us expect a pat on the back for each and every breath.

Ha ha, this is so true and you made it fun. It seems we can't help ourselves.
