Why Have I Forsaken Thee

My God, my God, why have I forsaken thee? To whom made the stars of night, whom made the sunset glow. I live in fear despite your protection. My faith is weak, I need redemption. So why shy away from your gracious ways? Why walk the path alone? I do not know why, but only feel, that my soul is not good enough to be redeemed. I turn my back on thee, but wonder, why your not there through my everyday blunders. I turn to sin, though it dissolves my ambition, and further despise the being I've become. I call at night and ask, can you hear me? But don't expect to hear your voice, me of little faith. So, I plead, I apologise, for straying so far from the herd. I thankyou, with all of my heart, that you still come to find me. You place worth on me, that I may never understand. I deem myself unworthy, yet you open your arms to your prodigal. My God, my God, why do I forsake thee? For in your palm I am meant to be.
