Why Can'T I Just Say Goodbye

I loved you once,
I loved you twice,
Not easy to say goodbye,
As it's not easy to let go of the past,
Had great times together,
Some were just crazier,
I know the past is the past,
It needs to be left alone,
But what we had together,
Won't ever be known,
Years ago,
A life we made,
Once I loved you,
Even twice the feelings,
Was in way over my head,
I'm happy for you,
And all that you have,
But why is it so hard,
To say goodbye,
And to also let go of the past,
I searched for you,
Years after the fact,
But no where to be found,
I gave up and just packed,
Not a day went by,
I didn't think of you,
But life goes on,
I did get married too,
Why Lord why,
Can't I let him go,
We had so much together,
I did love him so,
I loved him not only once,
But twice,
Even if the past is gone,
But why Lord why can't I say Goodbye,
Because he is the past,
But I'll always continue to stay hooked on....
